Jedne noći 1968. godine u malenom gradu u socijalističkoj Jugoslaviji dva policajca su zazvonila na vrata stana siromašne tročlane porodice. Probuđena žena je otvorila vrata i videvši policiju gotovo nagonski kriknula. Taj krik je čula njena ćerka, petogodišnja devojčica i uplašena dotrčala do majke.

As part of the briefing we were keen to present a number of different perspectives, including international comparisons. Ovaj članak ispituje napredak preusmeravanja biblioteka ka delotvornom učestvovanju u postupku slobode informisanja. Sredinom 2000-ih, Komitet IFLA/FAIFE je izradio nacrt IFLA Manifesta: Transparentnost, dobro upravljanje i sloboda od korupcije koji je usvojen 2008. godine.
